If you're a fan of alternate history's, conspiracy fodder, and a representation of a very drunk Richard Milhaus Nixon, than this is the film for you. The two commentary tracks are worth investing time in for separate reasons (Altman's for film theory, Freed's for the historical background and alternate theories dealt with in the film). A small, little known film by late, great Director Robert Altman. The film is based on a stage play of the same name. It is a fictional account of the last hours of Presidecnt Richard Nixon's Presidency. It features Phillip Baker Hall in a one man Tour de Force performance as Nixon. The movie sheds some light on both Nixon, his life and the reasons behind the Watergate affair. A stunning performance and story. I had seen this film only once when it came out - in a movie theater. When I saw it now available on DVD format, I purchased it immediately.
